Best Easel for young kids...

This product is fantastic, really enables your kid to play with both the magnetic and chalk sides. Enables they to show a lot of their artistic qualities - highly recommended and good value.
Why $40 more than retail

This is being sold by Toys R Us for less than $40. Why so much through Amazon?
Good toy, bad price

I bought this for my daughter at Toys R Us and paid $34.99 for it. It is worth every penny. I would NEVER pay $89.99 for it. Not only is that highway robbery but even though I have no complaints about the easel, it is not worth $89.99. To be aware of: the paper pad clip at the top of the easel doesn't hold paper pads very well and the magnetic letters that come with it are kind of small. Other than that, it worth the $34.99, but not $89.99. Suggestion for the paper pad problem, I hung a roll of paper from the top of the easel with a cord and it has worked out great for my daughter.
It's a pretty easel.

We've only had it for one day and it has withstood my 2-year-old climbing around and underneath it (because he thinks everything is a piece of playground equipment). The reason for this review is to let people know that in order to make the art trays stay on the easel (several people have complained that they easily fall off), you have to reach behind (inside) the easel and snap them on. You don't just sit them on; they snap in place. Do this and they won't keep falling off. : )
Great variety in product and easy to keep clean

My daughter has used this regularly for 2 years now. I highly recommend the plastic easel vs. wood - when they paint they paint everywhere and this cleans up so easily! We just rotate the art options to keep her interested. Sometimes she's into chalk, sometimes painting, and the dry erase is fun too.
GOOD EASEL FOR PRICE

You cannot compare this easel to the more sturdy wooden easels that cost twice as much as this one. The major disadvantage as pointed out by another user is that the chalk/pen holder keeps falling. We got this as a gift and our daughter is loving it
Bad tray design!

I bought this easel for my toddler because of Crayola's good reputation and attractiveness of this easel, but I was disappointed.
PROS: 1) Easy to assemble, 2) Comes with magnetic letters and numbers, 3) Nice hooks to hang drawing paper, and 4) Sturdy plastic construction with rounded edges
CONS: 1) The 4 trays that are supposed to hold the magnets, drawing supplies, and paints fall off ALL THE TIME! The plastic parts that are supposed to keep the trays in place are very poorly designed and any time my child leans on them or accidentally bumps the easel, as toddlers often do, they would come crashing down. I tried double sticky tape for carpets which only worked temporarily, and finally resorted to velcro-ing the trays down. 2) No drawing supplies came with this unit - only magnets. So, be prepared to buy chalk, erase board markers, paper and crayons when you buy this easel or else your child will be disappointed that he/she cannot draw right away.

My son received this item as a gift for his 3rd birthday. He absolutely loves it! He already loved to color, draw, and write his letters. This toy gave him a new forum in which to do that, and I can't pull him away from it. It's a mommy dream come true as well. It took a whole 30 seconds to set up. God bless crayola for keeping out the excessive packaging, those insane metal twist ties, and any screws or bolts to assemble. The whole item just pops into place. It's easy to store too as it collapses flat.
